Many people have trouble staying focused and I think most people know about these apps. I thought it would be a good refresher. I wanna present you 3 apps to help you stay focused.

Forest

Forest is a very basic app. It is a timer that can be set for a certain amount of time. You have to plant a tree and water it every time you are on your phone. If you fail to do this, you will lose your “tree”.

This app has a beautiful design. You can select a theme and adjust the size of your tree. It also has a nice “humming” sound that you can play while you are working.

The key to this app is that you must have a dedicated Forest account. You can have multiple trees, but you will have to log into your account to water your tree. It makes you want to stay on task and not get distracted.

Moment

This app is a bit more complex. It tracks your overall phone usage. It will tell you how much time you spend on your phone, how many times you check your phone, and how many notifications you receive. It will also tell you how much time you spend on apps, and how many times you unlock your phone.

I don’t think this app is very useful, but I do think it is interesting. To be honest, I don’t use it much. I only use it to know how many times I unlock my phone.

StayFocusd

This is a Chrome extension. It blocks certain websites for a certain amount of time. It can also block certain apps.

You can set up how long you want to work. Then you can block certain websites and apps for a certain amount of time. It will give you a warning before you are blocked. You can also set it to “grace period”. This will allow you to continue to use certain apps, but you will not be able to use them for as long.

I use this app all the time. The sites I block are Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube. I also block the apps on my phone. I have a hard time staying away from my phone. So, I use this app to prevent myself from using my phone for long periods of time.
